ROUNDTABLE TALK: FRAUEN POWER

On Sunday, April 8th at 12pm, the festival will present a special Roundtable Talk “FRAUEN POWER: German Women Filmmakers Making Their Mark” with filmmaker Marieke Schroeder (BAR TALKS BY SCHUMANN), producer Lisa Blumenberg (BAD BANKS), actress Désirée Nosbusch (BAD BANKS).

Moderated by Julie La’Bassiere, Publicity, Marketing and Distribution Strategist

Julie La’Bassiere is currently a Senior Executive at Obscured Pictures where she leads the charge on promotional outreach and partnerships for clients such as Bleecker Street, Amazon and Roadside Attractions. Prior to Obscured, she was the CEO of BAFTA New York.

Prior to joining the BAFTA New York team, La’Bassiere had her own strategic brand, marketing and indie film distribution consultancy for filmmakers and content creators in the digital distribution space. She has worked with and for companies such as FilmBuff, Fork Films, the British Council, the New York Times, Tribeca Film Festival, the Edinburght International Film Festival, American Express, CAA, Film Independent, the American Cinematheque, IFP, and the Writers Guild of America, West to name just a few. She has served on numerous film festival juries and is often asked to speak to filmmakers on marketing and distribution strategy both in the US and abroad.

La’Bassiere is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in Educational Anthropology.
